This Sunday at Asbury — January 20, 2019
This page updates on Friday or Saturday to tell you about our upcoming Sunday worship service.
2nd Sunday after the Epiphany
NOTE: Asbury Memorial provides childcare during the 10 O'clock Hour and the worship service.
10 A.M. (opportunities for children & adults)
Our "Creative Kids" program for children and youth has restarted for the new church year. Creative Kids uses puppetry and other art forms to experience the good news of the gospel. These art forms will be shared in our worship services periodically. Creative Kids meets on the 2nd floor of the Education Building.
10 O'clock Hour
Stretch, grow, and build relationships all at the same time at our study in the Social Hall at 10:00 a.m. All adults are welcomed. Come at 9:45 a.m. for coffee and fellowship. Topic: "When Bad Things Happen to Good People." Author Rabbi Harold Kushner thinks that God's favorite book of the Bible is Psalms. In the rest of the Bible, God is said to speak to us through all kinds of people and circumstances. But in the Psalms, we speak to God. Whether we speak from love and gratitude or from anger and hurt, the shows model of confidence in the relationship that makes room for our best days and our greatest challenges. Cultivating such an ongoing conversation with the Divine is the nature and purpose of prayer. Come join us as we explore how to grow in our intimacy with God.
Children, ages 3 to 5 years old, are invited to participate in the wonderfully creative and interactive learning experience of Godly Play. It meets on the first floor of the Education Building across from the nursery.
